This past June, the Mid-Atlantic bioscience community successfully welcomed more than 15,000 of the world's life science leaders to the 2011 BIO International Convention in Washington, D.C. In recognition of this momentous occasion, leaders from the Maryland and Virginia bioscience communities elected to forego holding a full scale conference this year and, instead, convene the regional bioscience community at a special half-day symposium and reception on October 12 at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington. The 2011 Mid-Atlantic Bio Symposium will feature remarks from industry leaders, senior government officials and hundreds of representatives from biotech and device companies from throughout the national capital region.
