The Business Networking Tool of 2009 Mid-Atlantic Bio

BioMatch is now available to all registered attendees.  BioMatch is  a targeted networking platform that allows attendees to conduct one-on-one meetings with other attendees from leading bioscience organizations you’d like to get to know. BioMatch makes it easier to turn business contacts into business relationships by connecting you directly with bioscience industry leaders who can help you further your business goals through mutually beneficial relationships.

What is BioMatch?
Designed specifically for the life sciences and biotech industries, the online BioMatch system uses state-of-the-art partnering software that enables you to:

  • Profile your company, products and technologies, and types of collaborations you seek
  • Research and review profiles of all other registered companies on the password protected section of the BioMatch Web site
  • Communicate with other registered companies using the integral messaging system
  • Request private, one -on-one meetings with companies of your choice
  • Make the most of your time at the conference by arriving at 2009 Mid-Atlantic Bio with a personalized agenda of meetings and conference activities – our integrated meeting scheduler schedules meetings agreed to by both parties, based on the availability of all participants, ensuring optimal use of your time.

There will be a designated BioMatch area,  with chairs and tables, available on a first come, first served basis for those who would like to have meetings there.  The BioMatch area will be located in room 154A.

BioMatch Directions

After clicking on the link to BioMatch that was included in your registration email, you may do the following:
 
Home Page: View Your Inbox
 
This is your home or “portal” page you land on when clicking on your BioMatch link.  On this page you may view:

  • Appointment requests pending your approval.” – People who want to meet with you, but you must first agree to the appointment.
  • “Appointment requests you sent pending approval.” – People who’ve you sent requests to meet with, but have not yet agreed to meet with you.
  • “Messages” – Messages sent directly to you by another attendee.
  • “Appointments” – Appointments that have been settled.
Searching and Asking for Appointments
 
To begin the process of setting an appointment, click on the link “Click here to search and schedule appointments with Attendees” towards the top of your Home page.  On the next page you can select what kinds of people you wish to meet.  Check off at least one box and as many as you wish, then click on the “Search” button towards the bottom.  On the subsequent page you will see the names of people who meet your criteria.
 
To find out more about a person, click on their name.  If you wish to meet with the person, click on the “Request Appointment” button. On the popup type in a message to the person (why you want to meet with them would be good) and a suggested place and time. After you click on the button an email will be sent to the person pointing him or her to their Home page, where your request can be viewed and approved.  You will get an email if your request has been approved or declined.
 
You can always get back to your Home page by clicking on the “Home” link towards the top of the BioMatch page.
 
Responding to Appointment Requests Pending Your Approval
 
Under this section, click on the name of the person you wish to respond.  This will take you to a person’s “Detail” page.  If you wish to meet with the person, click on the “Approve & Set Appointment Time” on the subsequent page.  Set the time and location you wish to meet and click on “Submit”.  An email will be sent to your appointee and the appointment will now show up on your appointments list on your Home page.
 
If you do not want to meet with the person, click on the “Decline” button.  An email will be sent notifying the person of your decision.
 
Viewing and Sending a Message
 
By going to a person’s “Detail” page, you can also send a by clicking on the “Send Message” link, towards the bottom of the page.  Just fill in the fields on the subsequent page and send the message.  The messages will not come from your email, but from BioMatch, thus keeping your email address private.
 
You can also view your messages from the “Detail” page.
 
Getting to the Detail Page
 
You can get to a person’s detail page at any time by clicking on the person’s name from any of the links on your Home page or via the Search mechanism.
